After a short visit to the Trou aux Biches public beach one week-end, we were quite hungry and didn’t feel like going all the way back to Grand Baie, so we looked for somewhere we could get something nice to eat.
Just opposite the beach road, we found a simple yet appealing place called “Souvenir restaurant” and decided to give it a try.
The place is not really fancy, but has a nice ‘Mauritian’ charm to it!
It was not really busy while we were there although from the bar setup, we kinda gathered that this might be quite a popular night place.
The menu had a nice variety to it and the prices were very reasonable.
We had some samosas first and then some nice “bol renversé” and they were really yummy.
To add to the local charm, the restaurant being located just next to traffic lights, the level of noise as buses and lorries stopped at the light was quite high. We even had to stop our conversations at times and start again when they had gone on their way…
This actually led us to good laughs from the broken conversations!
