Sundowners in Flic en Flac

A couple of weeks ago, to end the week-end on a high note, we decided to go enjoy the sunset in Flic en Flac with a nice little barbecue.

To get into appetite, we first went for a little walk/bicycle ride on the Medine walkway from Cascavelle, which was really enjoyable.

For a little while we were a little bit worried about the weather as we saw some big grey clouds lurking around, but luckily they didn’t last very long.

Then we headed to the Villa Caroline beach.

The beach wasn’t too crowded, some families here and there, but still lots of beach space to settle on.

As we had to carry quite a bit of stuff: the barbecue, bags, cooler boxes, etc., we didn’t venture too far off and chose a quiet spot close to the water.

The children went to explore their surroundings while we got settled.

The afternoon was really very enjoyable. The quiet water offered a nice and relaxing scenery.

Everyone around seemed to be having quite a good time. Some were just walking and jogging alongside the water. May be they were coming from the Klondike! Others were looking for shells and sea animals, while others were cruising quietly away on the waters…

Soon the nice smell of the barbecue started to stir our senses and make us hungry.

While the food was cooking, we witnessed the most magnificent sunset!

We could hear the hotel’s music in the background, while closer to us lively music rhythms from the other families accompanied our meal.

We didn’t stay very late, thinking of the starting week the next day. The children were very quickly asleep as soon as we hit the road.

And to finish off this wonderful evening, we were rewarded by a magnificent moonrise behind the mountains on our way back.

What a perfect way to end the week-end!
