During our drive to Mahebourg, in the beginning of this year, we stopped at the ‘Jardin de Beau Vallon’, next to Blue Bay, for some lunch.
We didn’t really know what to expect, only that the restaurant was recommended in our guide. We were pleasantly surprised to discover a very cozy and homely place!
On that day, they were very understaffed but really made their absolute best to make our short time there a nice one.
We had access to the pool and on this hot summer day, our son was quite happy to take a dip!
The food was delicious! And although the restaurant itself is simple and comfy, the plates are served with panache, beautifully decorated!
The menu is a mixture of Mauritian and European food and the prices quite reasonable. I reckon you can have a nice meal for one person for about Rs 700 per person.
The ‘Jardin de Beau Vallon’ is not only a restaurant, but also offers accommodation. We were quite charmed by its authentic tropical garden and made a note to come back for a week-end in one of their bungalows some day.
If you are visiting the south of the island, this is definitely a place I would recommend, to spend a pleasant time accompanied by some nice food!
