Too shy to stay open!

One of the highlights for my four year old last week-end at “La vieille cheminée” was the sensitive plant. This little weed can’t be found easily nowadays unless you go a little deeper into nature.

You find it creeping on the ground with other grass type plants. You can recognize it by its tiny little leaves that fold upon themselves when touched and its small round purple flower.

My son definitely had a lot of fun closing them all every time we encountered some, by touching them or as he found out by blowing on them!

How about you? Have you ever met this sensitive plant? What other funny plants do you know about?

    1. When I was a child, we used to find them everywhere, in gardens, on the side of the road… Nowadays, they are not so easy to find though, unless you go a little deeper in forests.
